Teaching Adult Second Language Learners

Published on 1999 by Ernst Klett Sprachen
This is a resource book for teachers of adult second language classes which combines basic information about teaching such classes with classroom community building techniques and thematically organized classroom activities. It should appeal to new and experienced teachers, teacher trainers, programme administrators, volunteer agencies and libraries. The activities, growing out of the authors own teaching experience, are designed to meet the real needs and interests of adult L2 learners. Furthermore, because adult language teachers often have little space and few resources, the activities require a minimum of space, equipment and copying, and use easily available material. The section on community building is especially important for teachers in adult programmes with open entry policies and irregular attendance.
